As you know, I had purchased eight home theater seats from this company a few years ago, thinking that I was getting a quality leather product. The total cost for the seats was over $5,000. Within a year of owning these seats, the leather started to deteriorate and peel off the seats. After more than a year of trying to get the company to respond to my concerns and address the problem, I was ready to give up. The company simply never responded to my calls or emails.After being introduced to you through my MetLife legal plan, you agreed to write a demand letter on my behalf, letting the company know that they either needed to address my concerns or I would file a small claims case against them. Within days of a letter being sent I received a call from the customer service manager at Orbo Seating/4seating.com, letting me know that they would be sending me replacement seats with an upgraded leather covering. The value of the seats are significantly higher than the price that I originally paid for the seats. I had honestly not expected to have a result like this. My hope was that they would at least give me a partial credit towards repair and recovering of the seats but this outcome was far greater than I had expected. I am including the email confirmation showing that they have confirmed the shipping of the replacement seats I am very grateful to you for the professionalism and fast service towards my issue, and I would use your services again and recommend you to anyone in need of legal services.

On behalf of me and my wife, I wanted to say thank you for taking the time reviewing our wedding contracts leading up to our big day. Not only was it good to know we had the appropriate protections in our contracts, should anything unthinkable happen, but really an example of why seeking counsel from a great attorney is so valuable.  As you might recall, during the review of our photography contract, you pointed out several areas of concern that were unfavorable and questioned if they were aligned with the intent of the services we were expecting. When we addressed them with the photography company, they assured us it was ‘just contract language’ and ‘not to worry… they will make sure to do a great job.’ As a result of your feedback and their subsequent responses, we looked at other photographer options. It turns out we are glad at we did. We not only found our perfect fit who made our day so special and did a phenomenal job! If that alone wasn’t enough, it turns out Key West is a small community. We started talking with another couple who used the very photographer we opted not to at their wedding a couple years previous. The very concerns that were pointed out were some of the same issues and areas of disappointment they had. I contacted Mr. Joseph for a contract review, as my wife and I were buying a home as part of our relocation to Florida.  In the beginning, I was pleased with the service offered by Mr. Joseph, he was prompt, courteous and professional.  Ours was a pretty run of the mill document review as part of the purchase of the house, nothing too involved or intricate.  Mr. Joseph reviewed the documents, made some suggestions and offered some good advice.  Already, this was more than I expected from a contract review.  However, because of confusion on the part of the title agency our closing went totally off the rails.  I’ll spare you the gory details, but suffice to say that Mr. Joseph was the only person in the entire process who I felt was representing my interests.  I have no idea the number of phone calls he made and the time he spent on our case but his presence was invaluable.  He went way above and beyond what I expected from him and I can’t say enough about how pleased I was about the level of service I received and I wanted to make sure that you knew what a happy customer I was.

Since only one of the ten lepers came back to thank Jesus, I wanted to not fail to say thanks for your good counsel regarding the fraud I recently discussed with you regarding another church. My meeting with all involved went very well. The full Board was informed and agreed upon the restitution approach, then met with the guilty party and her husband. Confronted with solid evidence, she admitted to everything and she and her husband signed the restitution agreement. (I had our church’s attorney assist me in drafting this document, which left open the possibility of future discovery and reopening of the church’s remedies in that event). There seemed to be a desire on the part of all to move forward discreetly, allowing for repentance and continued fellowship but moving wisely in terms of permanently separating this individual from any church leadership function. Time will tell, but I am hopeful that this situation could turn out as well as could be hoped. Your counsel proved invaluable. Thank you from the leadership of the church as well as from me!

I had no idea what we were getting into when I proposed the possibility of a merger of Destiny Church in Ruskin, Florida, with Faith Assembly of God in Temple Terrace near Tampa.

An interim pastor had served Faith Assembly for 18 months. Although the church could pay its bills it could not pay a full-time pastor. Our vision at Destiny Church is to be a church of regional influence and impact. We believed we could best accomplish this through revitalizing a church that was struggling. Faith Assembly of God was that church. Faith Assembly consisted of a small group of faithful people who needed leadership and a vision. The church was in the middle of a residential area mostly untouched by the churches in the area.

The board of trustees agreed that the prospect and timing were right for the merger. Everyone involved wanted to do it right. We needed legal advice. This was the best decision we could have made. When I called John Joseph and told him what we were trying to do, he laid out a plan that enabled both churches to understand the merger process. His recommendation for a transition team composed of representatives from both churches aided immeasurable in paving the way through the Plan of Merger, Articles of Merger, a new constitution and bylaws as well as informational meetings at both churches.

While some pastors may be reluctant to seek legal advice because of the cost, we did the right thing. We could not have answered the questions about the protection of our vision and the assets of the churches without his help. Because of our diligence in complying with the legal requirements we did our merger properly. No one can come later and accuse either church of failing to do the right and legal thing.

What began as an idea we shared over lunch is now a reality. Each congregation voted in favor of the merger. We have filed the documents with the state, and the church can now concentrate on its vision to reach the community. Destiny Church of Ruskin, Florida, had its first satellite church in Temple Terrace. We believe we will touch the lives of people we would have been unable to reach otherwise.

In our view, revitalizing existing churches stands alongside planting new churches in the Great Commission mandate Christ gave His church. Doing the merger with the benefit of legal counsel enabled us to pursue that mandate without questions that might later give way to distractions and prevent us from seeing the vision come to pass. The cost was worth every penny for the peace of mind.
